The Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) summit specifically seeks to harness the national science and technology enterprise, creating new and strengthening established partnerships across Defence, government, industry, and academic sectors, aligning ground-breaking research and innovations to the STaR Shot aspirations.

The inaugural Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research Summit (ADSTAR) was held in Sydney from 20 to 22 July 2022.
Hosted by Defence Science and Technology Group on behalf of the Department of Defence, the summit brought together more than 1700 people from across the research and innovation sector. Participants shared ideas with a view to enhancing capability for the Australian Defence Force.
