Second call for proposals

In its second call for proposals, the Research Network for Undersea Decision Superiority (RN-UDS) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for innovative projects to conduct capability-developing research that aligns with the RN-UDS Strategic Investment Plan.

The invitation to submit an EOI is limited to lead investigators who are early-to-mid career researchers employed by a Network member.

All EOIs must demonstrate alignment with the Strategic Investment Plan.

Based on a potential investment of up to $250,000 per study, over a maximum of 3 years, EOIs will need to detail:

  • The research proposal, objectives and funding request.
  • How the research will contribute to the growth in Australia's future research capability and capacity in relevant areas.
  • How the investigator will identify and deal with risks to the successful completion of the research project.
  • Why the proposed team is best placed to conduct the research.

The request for funds must detail the entire project's budget, not just the first year's budget.

Applications must demonstrate the ability to match or exceed (in cash or in-kind) the level of funds requested. Both cash and in-kind contributions will be assessed favourably.

How to apply

Lead Investigators should complete the attached Expression of Interest form.

Completed Expression of Interest forms should be submitted via email to the Network by no later than 17:00 (AWST) Friday 6 March 2020.

All applications must be submitted in an editable PDF format, with the Lead University and Lead Investigator surname leading the document title (e.g. University_Surname_Keyword(s)). Signature pages may be scanned and attached separately if necessary.

Late applications will not be accepted.
