The Modelling Complex Warfighting (MCW) SRI was launched in 2017 as one of these initiatives with research plans and a timeline of five years.

Written by Peter Morton and first published in 1989, the 600 page history book is now accessible to a wider audience in multiple digital formats with the release of PDF (screen and high quality print), ePub and Kindle formats.

Over the past 75 years, DST has made significant contributions, not only to the investigation of the causal factors behind many air accidents but also to improvements in aviation safety, including the in-flight data recorder and the Tee Visual Approach Slope Indicator System (T-VASIS) international landing system.
