HPRnet Symposium 2023
HPRnet Symposium 2023

The annual Human Performance Research network (HPRnet) symposium provides an opportunity for human performance scientists to hear about the latest military challenges, network with other Defence human scientists and hear about some of the latest developments in human performance research for the military.

This year, the HPRnet symposium focused on implications of the Defence Strategic Review (DSR) on the Defence Human Science Ecosystem and the Health and Human Performance Requirements. Joint Health Command conveyed the evolving Health Innovation, Science & Technology (IS&T) challenges and the potential future research opportunities. We also reflected on the DSR and the new opportunities for Defence Human Science, particularly across the S&T support requirements of near and mid-term Defence capability acquisition.

Insight was provided into the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) and how Human Science fits within the expected operating model.

Attendees heard from the Australian Defence Science and University network (ADSUN), US Army, US Office of Naval Research and US Air Force Health in relation to their Human Performance Research Requirements and navigating their funding opportunities.

There was also a session on Defence-sponsored biotechnology-related Health and Human Performance Projects including the Performance Patch, Cognitive Gut and the Human as an Integrated Sensor System.

The HPRnet Symposium is held as part of Human Performance Week, 2023. Human Performance Week also includes the Defence Human Sciences Symposium (DHSS).
