The inaugural Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research Summit (ADSTAR) was held in Sydney from 20 to 22 July 2022.
Hosted by Defence Science and Technology Group on behalf of the Department of Defence, the summit brought together more than 1700 people from across the research and innovation sector. Participants shared ideas with a view to enhancing capability for the Australian Defence Force.
Defence is seeking to work with academia and industry to overcome our biggest challenges, focusing on three main themes:
- Resilience in contested environments;
- Artificial intelligence for Defence; and
- Human & defensive biotechnologies.
ADSTAR 2022 included a science-and-technology conference, workshops, panel sessions, networking opportunities and an interactive exhibition floor. It was run as a hybrid in-person/virtual event.
