Human factors research advances the understanding of the performance and effectiveness of the most important operating system within the military - the human.

Our research considers human capability, aiding cognitive and physical performance, survivability and protection at the individual and enterprise levels. This research is also associated with team processes and effectiveness of collective performance and organisational behaviour, including studies into:

  • Human sensory, perceptual and cognitive processes.
  • Decision making.
  • Impact of stressors on human performance.
  • Behaviour and well being.
  • Aspects of nutrition, health, ergonomics, and other treatments and/or technologies to enhance individual physical and mental performance. 

Research in this area also encapsulates human-machine interfaces and system safety.
