Event | HUMS 2027

The HUMS 2027 Conference is the 15th Defence Science and Technology Group International Conference on Health and Usage Monitoring. It will be held in Melbourne, Australia, from 22 to 24 February 2027 as part of the 22nd Australian International Aerospace Congress (AIAC22).
HUMS 2027 brings together Defence, industry, academia, and operators to present advances in condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, diagnostics, prognostics, and health management of aerospace, marine, land, and mechanical systems.
The HUMS conference in Melbourne will run alongside AIAC22 and includes technical sessions, keynote presentations, student support, and the HUMS Data Challenge.
Overview
HUMS 2027 is a leading international conference on health and usage monitoring, with a focus on diagnostics, prognostics, data driven maintenance, and decision support for complex engineering systems.
The conference will be held in Melbourne as part of AIAC22, bringing together experts in vibration analysis, signal processing, machine learning, reliability engineering, sensor systems, digital twins, and condition based maintenance.
HUMS2027 registration includes access to three conferences under the AIAC22 umbrella:
- 22nd Australian Aeronautical Conference (AAC)
- 15th International Conference on Health and Usage Monitoring (HUMS)
- 19th National Space Engineering Symposium (NSES)
The conferences run concurrently on Day 1 and Day 2, Monday 22 February to Tuesday 23 February 2027, in Melbourne, Australia.
All registrations also include complimentary access to AVALON2027, the Avalon International Airshow Aerospace and Defence Exposition, on Day 3, Wednesday 24 February 2027, at Avalon. AIRSHOW2027, the public airshow, will be held the following weekend.
Venue and Melbourne
HUMS2027 will be held at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, 25 Collins Street, Melbourne. The venue highlights dedicated event spaces, city views, and a central Collins Street location.
Melbourne offers delegates strong food, culture, entertainment, laneways, and a busy events calendar, making it a practical and appealing host city for conference visitors.

Conference Dinner and Student Support
The HUMS Conference Dinner, sponsored by ETMC, is always a highlight of the conference. It will be held on Day 1 and will be available free to the first registered HUMS delegates until sponsored tickets are fully allotted.
Our main sponsor, ETMC Technologies, will also provide additional sponsorship to cover the registration of five PhD students attending HUMS2027.
PhD students who are interested in attending HUMS2027 can send their bids to the HUMS2027 Committee by email to QFGT.UHZFPbasrerapr@qrsrapr.tbi.nh with a resume and preferably the abstract of their paper or presentation.

Abstract submissions are now open for HUMS 2027. Please submit via the AIAC22 paper submission system hosted by Arinex at https://aiac.com.au/.

Data Challenge
We will have a new Data Challenge for HUMS2027 using a dataset generated from the Bell 206B-1 (Kiowa) main rotor gearbox test program in our Helicopter Transmission Test Facility (HTTF) at DSTG Melbourne. More details will be made available in due time.
