National Science Week 2022
National Science Week 2022

Each year, Defence celebrates National Science Week in recognition of the incredible contributions our STEM professionals make to Defence and national security.

As always, this year we had a range of fun-filled events and activities.

Space STEM Ambassador Jarli

From the sun-baked Outback to the frozen plains of Jupiter's largest moon, Ganymede... Jarli Jones was a proud Space STEM Ambassador for National Science Week!

Defence, partnered with the Animal Logic Academy at the University of Technology, Sydney, to create the Jarli animation in order to spark interest in STEM, space and the limitless opportunities they offer young Australians.

Jarli's story of ingenuity and determination aims to inspire kids to follow their dreams and widen their eyes to the possibilities opened up through STEM and the wonders of space.

Jarli featured at the Australian Space Agency Space Discovery Centre, Lot Fourteen throughout Science Week.

National Science Quiz

Defence was proud to sponsor the National Science Quiz, a fantastic night of science and fun! Hosted by Charlie Pickering, teams battled it out to be this year's National Science Quiz champions.
