Congratulations to DSTG Scientist Adjunct Prof Dr Kamal Kant Gupta and his colleague Dr Jafar Shojaii (Macquarie University), The University of Melbourne and Swinburne University of Technology, who have been named as finalists in the Department of Defence's Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science in Safeguarding Australia.

Using novel techniques and architectures, Dr Gupta and Dr Shojaii have developed a radiation-protected semiconductor chip that can protect high-value Defence, satellite and civilian electronic systems in space and high-interference environments – a new sovereign capability for Australia.

The Eureka prizes are the most prestigious science awards in Australia, with winners announced Wednesday 3 September at the Sydney Town Hall. A livestream of the awards will be available online. To register, visit australian.museum/eurekaprizes.
