Defence Human Sciences Symposium 2025

The Defence Human Sciences Symposium (DHSS) is the principal Australian forum for those interested in the application of human sciences research to enhance Defence capability. DHSS 2025 will be co-hosted by University of Western Australia and the Department of Defence. It will be held from 02-04 December 2025 at the University of Western Australia, Perth.

HUMS2025

The 14th Defence Science and Technology International Conference on Health and Usage Monitoring (HUMS2025) will be held at Melbourne & Avalon, Victoria, Australia from 24 - 25th March 2025, in conjunction with the 20th Australian International Aerospace Congress (AIAC21).
The Call for Abstracts is now open. Please submit abstracts via the Engineers Australia submission system, see the AIAC website for details. Abstracts are due end of July 2024.

Soldiers often use supplements with the aim of helping to meet the physical and mental performance requirements of their occupation. The purpose of this study was to understand dietary and nutritional supplement use by active-duty Australian soldiers.

Comparative Field Evaluation of the In-service and Prototype Modular Mission Adaptive Combat Ration Packs

In this report  a side-by-side comparison with in-service CRP, a nutrient optimised modular MA CRP design was fielded with dismounted infantry personnel to assess fitness-for-purpose and utilisation over a 6–day use period.
