In our 2012 report, areas have been selected to reflect potential information security interests across a broad range of ICT scenarios in the Australian Government. In each of these areas, we consider the current state-of-the-art, in research and/or practice, and identify existing challenges and opportunities.

Information and communications

We research the techniques, processes and equipment essential for tactical to strategic situational awareness and command – planning, directing, and controlling operations – in order to provide accurate, complete, and timely information and decisions.

Research considers the architecture, integration, collection, processing, visualisation, dissemination and disposition of information supporting command and control, combat and mission systems, and intelligence systems.
