Defence STEM Work Experience Program

Students complete a virtual reality communication challenge

The Defence STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Work Experience program is delivered by DSTG in collaboration with Defence Work Experience and other organisations across the Defence Ecosystem. Open to Year 10 Students completing their work experience requirement in either South Australia or Victoria, the program aims to support the next generation of STEM innovators with access to cutting edge facilities and STEM Professionals.Each program is built around site visits, workshops, and activities designed to provide students a broad understanding of what a career in Defence STEM could look like. Focus is placed on pathways into a STEM career and will highlight the diversity of options open to those working in Defence.

To participate in the program please apply online through Defence Work Experience here. Applications are assessed on completeness, interest in STEM, and prior achievement relative to opportunity. Defence has a commitment to increasing female representation consistent with our commitment to boosting women's participation in innovation and career pathways.

South Australia
Participants will begin each day at a Defence Site in the Adelaide metropolitan area.

The program will run 0930-1630 each day.

Victoria
Participants will begin each day at a Defence Site near Melbourne CBD

The program will run 0930-1630 each day.
