The Military Forensic and Exploitation Symposium was held as part of the Secretary of Defence fellowship on Joint Forensic and Exploitation Enterprise. The aim of the symposium was to discuss military forensic and exploitation research and development and an integrated forensic and exploitation system.

The Chemical-Biological Defence Major Science and Technology Capability of DST’s Land Division conducted an Analytical Skills Development Course (ASDC) sponsored by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), The Hague, The Netherlands from 21 November to 2 December 2016 at DST Group’s Melbourne site.

The theme for the Defence Operations Research Symposium (DORS) was ‘From Trusted Data to Trusted Decisions’ having a sub-theme ‘Informing and Supporting the Defence Decision Maker’. In 2016, DORS was run in conjunction with the Defence Human Sciences Symposium (DHSS).

The 2016 theme for the Australian Energetic Materials Symposium (AEMS) was Energetic Materials Technology for Australia's Security and Prosperity - Partnerships, Communications and Knowledge Sharing.






This Emerging Disruptive Technologies Assessment Symposium (EDTAS) explored the theme of Trusted Autonomous Systems (TAS) and their related technologies to support humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) missions.
